AERN 330 - Aerodynamics for Pilots (3 hour(s)) Prerequisites: AERN 160. This course examines advanced aerodynamic concepts, with a focus on knowledge most relevant to aviators. It includes in-depth study of the atmosphere, the forces that act upon an aircraft in flight, aerodynamic stability, departure from controlled flight (stalls, spins, etc.), high speed and high-altitude flight. It includes a review of basic math and physics concepts. The overall goal of this course is for students to understand and appreciate aerodynamics as it applies to aircraft in flight in order to maximize pilot performance and minimize risk of unintentional departure from controlled flight. This course cannot be challenged.
