AERN 390 - Aviation Regulation


(3 hour(s)) Prerequisite: ENGL 112. This course examines the history of aviation, federal legislation and current regulatory issues in the United States. Students will study the history of regulation and aviation safety, the relationship between commercial airlines, general aviation and the federal government, and examine the regulations that effect the national and international airline industries, commercial exploration of space, general aviation and unmanned aerial systems.  The overall goal of this course is for students to understand and appreciate the cyclical and causative relationship between aviation safety and the resultant federal legislation and regulation of the commercial aviation industry. This course cannot be challenged.
