MUSI 231 - Advanced Theory I
(2 hours) Prerequisite: MUSI 134 and 135. Co-requisite: MUSI 232. Topics covered include variation technique, borrowed chords, 9th-13th chords, Neapolitan sixth chords, augmented sixth chords, altered dominants, chromatic mediants, sonata-allegro form, and 16th century modal counterpoint.
