MPAS 601 - Graduate Year Project II (1 hours) Prerequisites: Successful completion of MPAS 600, Graduate Project I. This is the second in a two-course series that builds on conveying the importance of evidence-based medicine, including research and evaluation of medical literature, and applying evidence appropriately when answering clinical questions and making medical decisions about a patient’s care in developing a Master’s Thesis Project. Using the research topic identified during Graduate Project I, this course will be presented as a literature review and research proposal, effectively utilizing evidence-based medicine through peer-reviewed literature to expound on a clinical question proposed to advance patient care. Additionally, this course will include a Summative Evaluation using a variety of instruments to measure student acquisition of the knowledge, interpersonal skills, clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities, clinical and technical skills, and professional behaviors gained during the didactic and clinical years, which are required for entry into PA practice as outlined in the Student Learning Competencies. Note: This course cannot be challenged.
