MPAS 532 - Basic Sciences III (3 hours) Prerequisites: Successful completion of Units 1, 2, and 3 of the didactic year. This 12-week course in Unit 4 of the fall semester is the third in a three-course series designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of medical physiology and pathophysiology. This course will meet four times a week and is predominantly lecture-based. This course is designed to introduce students to clinical medicine by studying diseases as manifestations of physiology, pathophysiology, and genetic and molecular mechanisms. It will focus on concepts relevant to renal, genitourinary, women’s health, musculoskeletal, and neurologic systems. Note: This course cannot be challenged.
