MPAS 531 - Basic Sciences II


(3 hours) Prerequisites: Successful completion of Units 1 and 2 in the didactic year. This 12-week course in Unit 3 of the summer semester is the second in a three-course series designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of medical physiology and pathophysiology. This course will meet four times a week and is predominantly lecture-based. This course is designed to introduce students to clinical medicine by studying diseases as manifestations of physiology, pathophysiology, and genetic and molecular mechanisms.  It will focus on concepts relevant to cardiology, pulmonology, and endocrinology systems. Note: This course cannot be challenged.
