MPAS 521 - Clinical Medicine II (6 hours) Prerequisites: Successful completion of Units 1 and 2 of the didactic year. This 12-week course in Unit 3 of the summer semester is the second in a three-course series designed to provide an intensive study of human diseases and disorders, using a lifespan approach from prenatal care, neonatal care, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and the elderly in acute, emergency, chronic, and preventative care settings. This course will meet every Monday through Thursday and is predominantly lecture-based. This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of clinical medicine in cardiology, pulmonology, and endocrinology. It will serve as an introduction to diagnosis and treatment, as well as preventive and rehabilitative care. Note: This course cannot be challenged.
