MPAS 511 - The Path to Becoming a PA II (1 hours) Prerequisite: Successful completion of Units 1 and 2 of the didactic year. This 12-week virtual and asynchronous course in Unit 3 of the summer semester is the second in a three-course series designed to facilitate the student’s transition into the medical profession and introduction to PA professional practice issues. Topics taught include public and population health topics such as disease prevention-surveillance-reporting, patient advocacy and epidemiology, maintenance of population health, social determinants of health, healthcare delivery systems and health policy, quality improvement, patient safety/medical errors prevention, and mindfulness for personal wellness and provider burnout prevention. Note: This course cannot be challenged.
