CHEM 117 - Elementary Organic Biochemistry (4 hour(s)) Prerequisites: CHEM 115 or CHEM 121 and 123 (grade of “C” or better). A broad course that descriptively covers the organic functional groups, reactions that relate to biochemistry, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids and enzymes. This course is designed to meet the needs of students in Science-Related Fields such as Nursing, Allied Health and Environmental Management. Lecture 3 hours, Laboratory 2 hours. (Laboratory fee required) This course does not count toward a Chemistry major. This course cannot be challenged.
