EDUC 655 - Literacy Leaders: Family and Community Partnerships

(3 hours) This course will examine theoretical, pedagogical, and research issues on the topic of family and community engagement in literacy, developing strong partnerships with families and improving literacy opportunities through grant writing. Additionally, participants will study significant theoretical and historical perspectives on family literacy that have influenced the development of programs and policy. Participants will examine different approaches and programs to family literacy within their community, as well.
