PSYC 604 - Acquired Basis of Behavior: Advanced Neuroscience


(3 hours) Prerequisites: Admission to the MS program and PSYC 501. An advanced overview of the neural systems involved in the regulation of human behavior, focusing on the interactions between the cortical, limbic, and hypothalamic systems. The course will facilitate students’ acquisition of new knowledge related to neuroscience. Topics may include developmental neuroscience, health and wellness, addictions, learning and memory, common central nervous system disorders in both children and adults and the use of neuropsychological research findings for culturally competent counseling practices and social justice advocacy interventions. Note: This course cannot be challenged.
