SCMT 325 - Procurement

(3 hours) This course enables the student to delve into the vital field of Procurement and how it relates to the Supply Chain. Major areas of study include the evolution, philosophy, concepts, tools, and techniques associated with Procurement. Specific topics to be examined include an introduction to purchasing and supply chain management; purchasing process; purchasing policy and procedures; supply management integration; purchasing and supply management organization; strategy development; supplier evaluation and selection; supplier quality management; supplier management and development; worldwide sourcing; strategic cost managemetn; analysis tools and techniques; negotiation and conflict management; and contract management. This course cannot be challenged.
