PSYC 531 - Integrative Psychotherapy Techniques I


(3 hours) Prerequisites: Admission to the MS program and PSYC 512. A study of meaning-making and spiritually oriented interventions; value clarification; ethical guidelines for using spirituality in therapy, addressing problematic spirituality in therapy, an introduction to the assessment of spirituality in the therapy process and a review of the literature supporting the use of spiritually oriented interventions in counseling and psychotherapy. This is an experiential skills training course that introduces the application of basic counseling strategies and interventions with diverse populations.
