Biology: Preprofessional Emphasis (BS Degree)

A major in Biology with a Preprofessional Emphasis consists of 77-79 hours; 49-51 hours in Biology courses plus the required 28 hours of supporting studies and does not require a minor. Courses from other departments are also required as shown below:

Note:
- All students placed in ENGL 099 and/or MATH 099 must complete the course(s) successfully before being allowed into BIOL 161, BIOL 161L, BIOL 162 or BIOL 162L.
- is a prerequisite to MATH 130.
Major Studies (41-43 hours)
Required Biology Electives (8 hours):
Students must take an additional 8 hours of Biology classes with either lab components or the BIOL 400-403 series of research intensive courses. All 8 hours must be at 300/400 level. Required Supporting Studies (28 hours):
