Biology: General Emphasis (BS Degree)

A major in Biology with a General Emphasis consists of 56 hours; 52 semester hours in Biology courses and the required 4 hours of supporting studies and requires a minor. Courses from other departments are also required as shown below.

Biology: General Emphasis (56 hours) + Liberal Arts Core (47 hours)

Note:


All students placed in ENGL 099 and/or MATH 099 must complete the course(s) successfully before being allowed into BIOL 161, BIOL 161L, BIOL 162 or BIOL 162L.

Required Biology Electives (20 hours):


Students must take an additional twenty hours of Biology classes with either lab components or the BIOL 400-403 series of research intensive courses. Of the required 20, 12 hours must be at 300/400 level.

All students must have at least 125 hours to graduate. Students must meet the Residency Requirements  described in this catalog.
