Music and Worship Leadership (BA Degree)

The major of Music and Worship Leadership consists of a minimum of 78 hours and does not require a minor. A minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all courses listed under major studies, with the exception of Studio Lessons and Ensembles, where a minimum grade of “B” must be earned.” Students must apply and be accepted into the Horton School of Music.

Music and Worship Leadership (78 hours) + Liberal Arts Core (47 hours)

Dismissal from Program


Dismissal from Program

If a student is unable to successfully pass on the second attempt Biology 210, Music  241 and 371, or a required course listed under Major Studies, he or she will be dismissed from the program. A student may also be dismissed from the program at the discretion of the Center for Worship faculty for reasons including, but not limited to, a pattern of poor academic performance; observed deficits in interpersonal communication or relationships, critical thinking, leadership, or music skills; unacceptable personal responsibility or professional behavior; or lack of insight or understanding about concepts related to ministry, desire to minister to others, and ability to lead worship through music; or any behavior or activity that is in conflict with Charleston Southern University’s Core Biblical Values. Note:


Graduation Credit Hour Requirements

  • All students must earn a minimum of 120 credit hours to graduate.

  • Students who have taken MATH 099 or ENGL 099 must complete at least 124 credit hours.

  • Students who have taken both MATH 099 and ENGL 099 must complete at least 128 credit hours.

  • All students must also satisfy the Residency Requirements  as outlined in this catalog.
