The major Bachelor of Arts in Performance (Instrumental) consists of 67 hours and does not require a minor. A minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all courses listed under Major Studies and Area Specific Studies, with the exception of Studio Lessons and Ensembles, where a minimum grade of “B” must be earned.
Note: Concert Attendance (MUSI 001) is required any term the student is taking Studio Lessons.
Dismissal from Program
If a student is unable to successfully pass on the second attempt Biology 210, Music 241 and 371, or a required course listed under Major Studies, he or she will be dismissed from the program. A student may also be dismissed from the program at the discretion of the music faculty for reasons including, but not limited to, a pattern of poor academic performance; observed deficits in interpersonal, critical thinking, or music skills; unacceptable personal responsibility or professional behavior; or lack of necessary skills, insight, or understanding related to pursuing a career or further study in music performance.
