A major in mathematics consists of 66- 67 hours and requires a minor. Students may not choose Mathematics for their minor.

Mathematics (66-67 hours) + Liberal Arts Core (48 hours)
Liberal Arts Core (48 hours)
- See Liberal Arts Core (LAC) for all bachelor degrees ; must include the following courses:
- (Students lacking an appropriate mathematics background may be required to take Math 110 or 111 and/or Math 130 prior to enrolling in Math 221 . These courses do not count towards the 42 hours required in the major.)
- IMPORTANT DEPARTMENTAL POLICY: A student who has received credit for a Mathematics course numbered MATH 221 or higher may not subsequently take a 100-level Mathematics course for credit.
Foreign Language requirement (hours included above)
Students are required to take a minimum of 3 credit hours but are not required to progress past FL 202 (Intermediate II) if the student places higher than FL 201. If a student places higher than 202, the student has completed her/his required FL credit. Note that this placement does not count toward the required 120 hours (may vary according to degree) required of all CSU students.
Choose one of the following courses:
- ARAB 110 and 110L, 120, 201, or 202 or
- FREN 110 and 110L, 120, 201, or 202 or
- SPAN 110, 111 or 112 and 110L, 101, 102, 120, 201, or 202 or
- CHST 121, 122, 131, or 132 or
- Any other 3 hour foreign language course.

Note:
All students must have at least 120 hours to graduate. Students who took MATH 099 or ENGL 099 will need at least 124 hours to graduate. Full Bridge students will need at least 128 hours. Students must meet the Residency Requirements described in this catalog.
