A major in Spanish consists of 30 semester hours of Spanish at the 200 level or above.

Prerequisites

SPAN 101 - Elementary Spanish I (3 hours)
SPAN 102 - Elementary Spanish II (3 hours)

Liberal Arts Core note

Mathematics 105 or higher satisfies the Liberal Arts Core requirement in Mathematics for this major.

Major Studies

SPAN 201 - Intermediate Spanish I (3 hours)
SPAN 202 - Intermediate Spanish II (3 hours)
24 hours of electives at the 300-400 level *

Note:

* May include 6 hours of cognate study to be chosen from the Literature in Translation courses appropriate to the major, appropriate linguistics, history, political science, or courses taken in the country of the target languages, subject to approval of the department chairperson.
