A major in Sociology consists of 34 semester hours including the Liberal Arts Core requirement of Sociology 101 . Required courses in the sociology major may not be challenged.

Liberal Arts Core

MATH 105 - Introduction to Mathematical Structures (3 hours) or higher (with a “C” or better)
SOCI 101 - Principles of Sociology (3 hours)

Major Studies

SOCI 203 - Social Problems (3 hours)
SOCI 301 - Introduction to Behavioral Statistics (4 hours)
SOCI 426 - The Development of Sociological Theory (3 hours)
SOCI 427 - Introduction to Social Research (4 hours)
SOCI 428 - Social Research Practicum (2 hours)
Electives: 15 hours (may include Political Science 314 )
