(Vocal or Instrumental)
The major Bachelor of Arts in Performance, Vocal and Instrumental, a minimum of 32 hours of Major Studies, plus additional Area Specific Studies, a minor, and requirements within the Liberal Arts Core . A minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all courses listed under Major Studies and Area Specific Studies, with the exception of Studio Lessons, where a minimum grade of “B” must be earned.
Note:
Concert Attendance (MUSI 001) is required any term the student is taking Studio Lessons.

Courses Required Within the Liberal Arts Core (44 hours) will satisfy the Mathematics requirement for the Liberal Arts Core . Students must also take: Voice Performance (44 hours)
- minimum (14 hours) (8 semesters of Studio Lessons required including 4 semesters at the 400 level)
- minimum (6 hours) (May include 3 credits of Group Piano I, II, and III)
- minimum (8 hours) (Must include 6 Semesters Concert Singers and 2 Semesters Lyric Theater)
- MUSI 241 - Language Diction for Singers I (3 hours)
- MUSI 242 - Language Diction for Singers II (3 hours)
- MUSI 252 30 - Group Piano IV (1 hours)
- Electives: (9 hours)
- Approved electives are to be selected from Music, Communications and Theater, and Foreign Language, and must be at the 200 level or higher.
Instrumental Performance (38 hours)
- minimum (8 semesters of Studio Lessons required including 4 semesters at the 400 level) (14 hours)
- minimum (or if Piano Major, Secondary Performance area) (7 hours)
- minimum (8 hours)
- Electives: (9 hours)
- Approved electives are to be selected from Music, Communications and Theater, and Foreign Language, and must be at the 200 level or higher. |
