A major in History consists of 33 semester hours, including the History Liberal Arts Core and additional lower-level History requirements, of which a grade of “C” or better is earned in each course. All majors must complete History 450 to graduate.

History Liberal Arts Core and additional lower-level History requirements (12 hours)
Liberal Arts Core notes
All students placed in ENGL 099 must complete the course successfully before being allowed into History 111 , 112 , or 113 . Mathematics 105 or higher satisfies the liberal arts core requirement in Mathematics for this major. Major Studies with Emphases in European or American History
Upper-level electives (18 hours)
European emphasis requires 12 hours of European history and 6 hours of American history. or American emphasis requires 12 hours of American history and 6 hours of European history. Note:
With the approval of the History Department, a student may apply one of the following courses to a history major: or a course in political science. Students must also meet the Residency Requirements described in this catalog. |
