Music and Worship Leadership (BA Degree)

The major of Music and Worship Leadership consists of a minimum of 78 hours and does not require a minor. A minimum grade of “C” must be earned in all courses listed under major studies, with the exception of Studio Lessons and Ensembles, where a minimum grade of “B” must be earned.” Students must apply and be accepted into the Horton School of Music.
Dismissal from Program
If a student is unable to successfully pass on the second attempt Biology 210, Music 241 and 371, or a required course listed under Major Studies, he or she will be dismissed from the program. A student may also be dismissed from the program at the discretion of the Center for Worship faculty for reasons including, but not limited to, a pattern of poor academic performance; observed deficits in interpersonal communication or relationships, critical thinking, leadership, or music skills; unacceptable personal responsibility or professional behavior; or lack of insight or understanding about concepts related to ministry, desire to minister to others, and ability to lead worship through music; or any behavior or activity that is in conflict with Charleston Southern University’s Core Biblical Values. Christian Studies Cognate (15 hours)
Note:
All students must have at least 125 hours to graduate. Students who took MATH 099 or ENGL 099 will need at least 129 hours to graduate. Full Bridge students will need at least 133 hours. Students must meet the Residency Requirements described in this catalog.
