Librarians provide individual and group instruction in accessing information in both traditional print and microform sources, and a variety of contemporary technologies. This emphasis placed on providing students with opportunities to learn how to access information in different formats is designed so that they can become independent life-long learners. Instruction includes informal point-of-use instruction, personal assistance in conducting library research, and traditional reference services. Formal instruction includes a library research course offered by the department, LIBR 104 , library orientations, and bibliographic instruction within courses offered by other academic departments.
