NURS 223 - Clinical Applications of Pharmacological Concepts III


(4 [4-0-0] hour(s)) Prerequisites: NURS 104 and Admission to the ABSN program. This course is a study of drug classifications used to treat acute and chronic diseases. Course content includes a review of related pathophysiology of each body system, as well as, classification-specific drug information. Nursing management of the patient receiving each classification of drug therapy is presented using the nursing process as the foundation. The administration of medications to patients throughout the lifespan is reviewed in the context of the professional nurse’s role, ensuring safety and technical competence.   This course cannot be challenged.
