KINE 370 - Scientific Foundations of Strength and Conditioning


(3 hours) Prerequisites: KINE 101, 211, BIOL 226/226L, BIOL 227/227L or permission of the instructor. The course is designed to provide students with knowledge in the following areas of exercise science including: anatomy and physiology (muscular, neuromuscular, bone and connective tissue, cardiopulmonary), biomechanics, bioenergetics and metabolism, neuroendocrine physiology, sport psychology, motor learning and skill acquisition techniques and sports nutrition. This course follows guidelines from the National Strength & Conditioning Association to prepare students for the scientific foundations section of the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). This course cannot be challenged.
