EDUC 201 - Principles and Philosophy of Education


(3 hours) A survey of past and current practices, trends, and issues in public education stressing historical and philosophical antecedents to modern education. Includes a study of education organization, finance, law, and administration, as well as current employment outlooks in the field of education. Teaching Fellows and Teacher Cadet students are enrolled in specific section.  A 12-hour practicum is required and 3 hours volunteer work in the community, church or campus. Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to designated or assigned sites. This course cannot be challenged. Note: Offered: Fall and Spring. Counts for ELR credit.
