BIOL 315 - Environmental Toxicology and Risk Assessment (3 hours) Prerequisites: BIOL 161, BIOL 161L, BIOL 162, BIOL 162L, ENGL 111, ENGL 112, and 1 CHEM course. The goal of this course is to examine important concepts in environmental toxicology. Students will learn how to prepare an environmental impact statement and risk assessment. Topics include: major classes of contaminants, biotransformation, detoxification, bioaccumulation, and other environmental factors that interact with contamination.
