THEA 315 - Applied Theatre Techniques (3 hours) Prerequisites: THEA 211. This course is an introduction to the practice of applied theatre. This course will focus on the foundations of applied theatre such as the improvisation, collaborative creation, and strategies for facilitating dialogue around social issues through performance. Students will learn about Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed techniques, Michael Rohd’s civic practice, Jonathan Fox’ Playback Theatre, Dale Savidge’s Spiritual Formation, and techniques in between.
