EDUC 647 - Methods, Trends and Issues in Teaching Mathematics/Science in the Elementary/Middle School


(3 hours) Corequisite: EDUC 632. An in-depth study of the critical aspects of classroom practice that define accomplished teaching in Science/Mathematics. Coursework includes current focus on content standards set by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, state legislatures and national learned societies. Participants analyze and refine their classroom practice and develop professional growth plans based on an understanding of the knowledge, skills, dispositions, and commitments characteristic of effective teachers in Science and Mathematics.
