Mathematics

A minor in mathematics consists of 18 – 20 hours.

  • Students lacking an appropriate mathematics background may be required to take MATH 111 College Algebra  and/or MATH 130 Precalculus  prior to enrolling in MATH 221 . These courses do not count towards the 18-20 hours required in the minor.
  • IMPORTANT DEPARTMENTAL POLICY: A student who has received credit for a Mathematics course numbered MATH 221  or higher may not subsequently take a 100-level Mathematics course for credit.

Minor Studies (12 hours)


Required for all Mathematics Minors:

Minor Electives (6 - 8 hours)


In addition, you will take one of two course sequences: 

Pure math minor (6 hours)


Applied math minor (8 hours)


Note:


All students must have at least 125 hours to graduate. Students must meet the Residency Requirements  described in this catalog.
