Applied Mathematics (B.S. Degree)

This major is available only to students participating in the Engineering Dual-Degree Program. A major in Applied Mathematics consists of 30 semester hours of Mathematics courses at the 200 level or above, 18 semester hours of applied mathematics courses (engineering), plus the required supporting studies (20 semester hours). No minor required.

The engineering courses taken during a student’s first full year at the cooperating institution participating in the dual-degree program will be applied toward the remaining hours needed to complete degree requirements in the Mathematics Department at Charleston Southern University. Any additional hours needed to meet the Bachelor of Science requirement of 125 (minimum) semester hours will also come from courses taken at the cooperating institution. These may be accepted either as additional mathematics electives or general electives.
