Mathematics (B.S. Degree)

A major in mathematics consists of 42 semester hours of Mathematics courses at the 200 level or above, plus the required supporting studies courses (25 or 26 semester hours). Of the 67 or 68 hours required, 19 of them also meet the Liberal Arts Core  requirements.

Note:


Students lacking an appropriate mathematics background may be required to take MATH 111 College Algebra  and /or MATH 130 Precalculus  prior to enrolling in MATH 221 . These courses do not count towards the 42 hours required in the major.

IMPORTANT DEPARTMENTAL POLICY: A student who has received credit for a Mathematics course numbered MATH 221  or higher may not subsequently take a 100-level Mathematics course for credit.
