Applied Computing: Computer Programming Track

A minor in Applied Computing: Computer Programming Track consists of 18 - 20 hours. Students pursuing a degree BT, BA or BS degree from the Computer Science department may not choose this minor.

Liberal Arts Core note:

MATH110/111 or higher satisfies the Liberal Arts Core minimum requirement in Mathematics for this minor.
Higher mathematics courses may be required as prerequisites for certain courses.
Check Course Descriptions for specific requirements.

Minor Studies (15-16 hours)

CSCI 215 - Introduction to Information Technology (3 hours) or
CSCI 217 - Visual Basic Programming (4 hours)
CSCI 235 - Introduction to Computer Science (4 hours)
CSCI 332 - Applied Networking (4 hours)
CSCI 325 - Java I with Elementary Data Structures (4 hours)

Minor Elective (3-4 hours)

3 - 4 hours of any 300/400 level CSCI course that does not duplicate a course in the major.

Note:

All students must have at least 125 hours to graduate. Students must meet the Residency Requirements described in this catalog.
