BIOL 475 - Environmental Science


(4 hours) Prerequisites: CHEM 320, BIOL 141 or 142, and 410. This course represents a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to the understanding of the complexities of the wise use of natural resources, the roles of industrialization contributing to environmental concerns, the identification of methods of environmental clean-up, the effects on human health, species diversity, and productivity. Laboratory exercises and field trips to local industries are designed to give students “hands-on” experiences with environmental instrumentation and applications. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. (Laboratory fee required) This course cannot be challenged.
