EDUC 342 - Relationship Building and Classroom Management in the Middle Grades


(3 hours) Prerequisite: Admission to College of Education, EDUC 340 and EDUC 341. Corequisite: EDUC 425 or EDUC 426 or EDUC 427 or EDUC 428. This course is designed to focus on strategies for building teacher-student relationships and to examine a variety of approaches for effective classroom management in a middle grades classroom. This course prepares candidates to develop systematic strategies and techniques essential for creating and managing positive, productive classroom learning environments for young adolescents in diverse settings.   This course cannot be challenged. Note: Note: Course offered Fall only prior to senior clinical practice.
