EDUC 678 - Instructional Strategies for Reading and ELA


(3 hours) Prerequisites:  Bachelor’s degree; current South Carolina teaching license; admission to graduate program in Education as degree or non-degree status. A study of developing instructional materials for the literacy needs and performance of students in grades K-6, based on performance data, personal background, individual learning styles, and classroom behavior. Candidates demonstrate the ability to choose, implement, assess and implement multiple materials and methodologies for literacy and the language arts. Candidates analyze and evaluate materials used in literacy education. Best practices in reading and language arts as well as recommended practices for developing and implementing instructional strategies.
