The goals of the College of Business are to:

Charleston Southern University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Charleston Southern University has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), located in Olathe, Kansas. The business programs in the following degrees are accredited by the IACBE:
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Entrepreneurship
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Financial Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Human Resource Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in General Business

Admission to the Professional Program in the College of Business
In order to pursue the Bachelor of Business Administration or the Bachelor of Science in Economics, a student must be admitted to the Professional Program in the College of Business. Students who are seeking admission to the Professional Program in the College of Business and who are seeking permission to take 300/400 level business and economics courses must have, at a minimum:
- Completed 45 hours of coursework, exclusive of Bridge Program courses,
- A 2.0 grade point average on all courses to be credited towards the degree,
- Completed the following courses:
MATH ___ The required math class for the degree sought (110,111 or
CSCI 211 Introduction to Computers for Business Application or other
approved CSCI course
ACCT 210* Principles of Accounting I (“C” or better)
BUSI 204 Business Communication (“C” or better)
ECON 211 Principles of Microeconomics
ECON 224 Business & Economic Statistics
* Students majoring in Economics are not required to take ACCT 210 and ACCT 211. Students pursuing the BBA degree may not earn a minor in Business, Management, or Marketing.
Upon successful completion of 45 hours of course work (exclusive of Bridge Program courses), the courses above and a 2.0 GPA, a student is eligible for admission to the College of Business. The student should apply for acceptance to the Business College at that time in order to take 300 and 400 level courses. Students are eligible to take MRKT 310 and MGMT 310 prior to admission to the College of Business, provided they have satisfied all other prerequisites.
Admission to the University does not guarantee admission to the Professional Program in the College of Business. Non-degree seeking students who desire to take 300/400 level courses may do so if they meet the general admission requirements of the University and have been granted permission to take the courses by the Dean or Department Chair.
